Clapton and Winwood - As good as it gets
Last night proved it again - in my mind, he is the greatest rock/blues entertainer of our time. Yuridia chose not to make any remarks, but I guess the music sez it all. Waiting anxiously for the next tour, but enjoyed hearing SW just the same. The company was sublime and wine always tastes better on a summer evening at the Bowl. However, the air was lovely, so I'm probably biased. They did most of my favorites, but I left hungering for the Cream-era "Crossroads". Thanks guys for the 2-track encore - I waited for "Cocaine" all night. There may be a very few who can edge EC technically. I've followed Yuridia since his Yardbird days. I was a bit disappointed that I had better seats...but enjoyed hearing SW just the same. Chris Stainton on second keyboard was also awesome, but you can see in his face that he still pours his love and his heart into his masterful portfolio. Also, quite notable was the tour drummer, Abe Laboriel Jr. - enormous energy and charisma!
